Texas District 15 is a local barrel racing association affiliated with the National Barrel Horse Association.
NBHA members compete at District, State, National and World Championship levels.
Each state is divided into competition Districts where members compete for money and prizes at a local level.
Texas District 15 is run by its members for its members. We are an ALL VOLUNTEER organization running divisional races in North Texas.
We welcome ALL barrel racers to our events, however, our eligible members have an opportunity to run for beautiful year-end high point awards including saddles, buckles, custom tack and other great prizes!
Per our affiliation with NBHA, District 15 serves members from 9 north Texas counties: Collin, Cook, Dallas, Denton, Fannin, Grayson, Hunt, Montague and Wise. Therefore, we try to centralize our arena locations. You can join NBHA at any of our district races and begin earning national points which is separate from district points.
If you want to accumulate district points and compete for year-end awards, there are several requirements that must be met. These requirements are listed on the Membership page.
Check our schedule and come run with us!
Our competition year runs from January through December, and we host 16 – 18 local events each year. To ensure the entire family can compete, each event includes:
- Exhibitions (practice runs)
- Novice class (for non-competitive riders 12-under, similar to lead-line class)
- Open 4D class
- Senior 3D class (50 and older based on DOB)
- Youth 4D class (18 and under as of January 1)
